SnapHuntAI ("we", "our", "the app") is a photo scavenger hunt game that uses AI to verify photos. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Information We Collect

We collect and process the following data only during active gameplay:

Photos: Photos you take during a hunt are sent to our server for AI analysis. Photos are processed in memory and are not stored permanently on our servers. They are discarded immediately after analysis.
Location data: If you use the "Nearby Hunt" feature, your approximate location (latitude/longitude) is sent once to generate location-relevant items. We do not track or store your location history.
Player names: In multiplayer mode, the display name you enter is stored temporarily in server memory for the duration of the game session only.

How We Use Your Data

Photos are sent to OpenAI's API for item verification. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
Location data is used solely to generate contextually relevant scavenger hunt items.
Player names are used only for in-game display during multiplayer sessions.

Data Retention

We do not maintain a database of user data. All game data (items, scores, player info) is held in temporary server memory and is lost when the server restarts. No photos, locations, or personal information are stored permanently.

Third-Party Services

OpenAI: We use OpenAI's Vision API to analyze photos. Photos sent to OpenAI are subject to their data processing terms.
Google Fonts: We load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Camera: Required to take photos of items during gameplay. Photos are only captured when you explicitly tap the camera button.
Location: Optional. Only requested if you choose the "Nearby Hunt" mode. You can deny this permission and still use all other features.

Children's Privacy

SnapHuntAI is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal information beyond temporary gameplay data.

Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data permanently, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have concerns, please contact us.
